Fish Seafood Deli Ltd t/a The Fresh Fish Deli Announces Closure Following Challenging Trading Conditions
Fish Seafood Deli Ltd today announces that it will cease trading on 28 November 2025, bringing an end to many years of service to our customers, suppliers, and local community.
As a result of the closure, approximately 30 jobs will be lost across the business. This decision has been made with great reluctance and only after exhaustive efforts to keep the business viable. The past 18 months have presented an exceptionally difficult trading environment, and despite the dedication of our team and ongoing efficiency measures, the business can no longer operate sustainably.
A combination of factors has led to this outcome:
•Escalating operating costs, including significant increases in staff wages, utilities, and general overheads
•Severe pressure on margins caused by rising supplier and compliance costs across the seafood sector
•Reduced and inconsistent availability of fish, which has created major challenges in maintaining product range, pricing stability, and reliable supply
•An overall trading climate that has become increasingly unpredictable and financially untenable
Speaking on the closure, Monica Buckley, Director of Fish Seafood Deli Ltd, said:
“This has been an incredibly difficult decision. We have worked tirelessly to navigate the cost pressures and supply challenges that have affected the industry, but the combined impact has made it impossible to continue trading. I want to express my deepest gratitude to our hardworking staff, our loyal customers, and our valued suppliers for their support over the years. Their commitment has meant everything to us.”
Fish Seafood Deli Ltd would like to thank the public and the wider community for their support and custom throughout the years.
